I'd be eating out if government wasn't gobbling up my money!I have to brown bag it so I can pay Wisconsin's taxes. My brown bags alter ego pays fewer taxes and gets to eat out.Wisconsin is tax hell!We spent 780 billion on a stimulus plan and all I got was this brown bag!
Scott Walker for Governor of Wisconsin on Facebook

Brown Bag Kickoff

Here is a story from Scott's first brown bag lunch in Green Bay.  Thanks for joining our movement.  What do you think so far?

I think it is high time to do away with republicans or demacrats and serveas an independent and focus on what would help the people, not as a political party.

I am going to vote for Scott because I believe he will do a hell of a lot better job than Doyle. There is one thing that I would like you to do Scott and that is give the seniors a break on their pension, we are being taxed on our pension and that is why most of the seniors are leaving the state of Wisconsin. I love the state but that is a big problem and I do not want to have to move where there is not tax on our pension.

GOOD LUCK SCOTT

March 12, 2010 07:11:40

Scott,
You have my vote. Good ridance to Doyle!!! He seemed so shallow and was a poor governor.

March 11, 2010 14:56:03

Scott, I am writting this to let you know that more Wisconsinites should [and must] all join together, like that of our forfathers and take a stand against endless spending, taxing more and more. We all came to this country to avoid the taxation England set upon our brave forfathers and now we have more than they could have imagined . It will be my pleasure to welcome you as the next govenor of Wisconsin

March 11, 2010 10:01:45

You speak what so many people in this country have been feeling for a long time. What I mean is why can goverment spend beyond their means and the citizens of this great state can't? This doesn't make sense to me. The same rules should apply regardless of if its everyday citizens or our elected officials who work for us (the one's who elected them). Please--make this great state proud.

March 09, 2010 23:58:50

Scott Walker for governor is the best news I have had since moving to Wisconsin in 1992.

March 06, 2010 13:10:06

Scott,

I know it's probably impossible to even do this but what is your thought regarding once one is elected to office, that he or she drop their party affiliation and unbiasd as possible represent the will of the people and serve only one term.

March 05, 2010 17:07:48

SCOTT The brown bag is an excellant idea! It stands for symbol and substance. Better than a red vest. Wish I had thought of that!

Taxation without representation sounds trite but it is what ignited the fuses to our revolution. The capability of so many permanent entities to tax without representation is astounding. It won't be easy but, Scott, I hope you can look at the MATC board and similar boards(in Milwaukee and elsewhere) that run rough shod over our budget and tax with no controls. I heard this morning that the proposed choo-choo trains RTA will have taxation power if passed with little controls. This has got to stop.

March 05, 2010 16:27:44

I am excited about this movement...it is about time we get back to how our state gov. should be run...run it like ones own personal budget...if you don't have the $$$...you can't spend it! Scott is a down-to-earth politician...stay that way! Raising taxes to create ridiculous made-up jobs is ludicrous...Brown bag ...here we come!

March 05, 2010 15:49:23

Scott, thank you for your unwavering support for less spending & smaller government. Please continue to fight the Doyle, Madison to Milwaukee train boondoggle. The U.S. populace has finally adopted the idea of more fuel efficent cars in the form of hybreds & electric cars. Why not give us a third lane on I-94 from Milwaukee to Madison, thus reducing highway congestion and wasted fuel while cars are idiling in periodic gridlock. When the day comes and fuel prices exceed the average working mans ability to pay for a gallon of gas, then it might be time to lay that rail track on the third lane they should have built 20-years ago from Madison to Milwaukee.

March 05, 2010 12:31:29

Scott,
John Willock here. I was wondering if you had a chance to get into that venison summer sausage I gave you in Racine. You gotta take a break from ham. All that PORK is no good for you.
John

Once in a generation a person comes along, who is the perfect fit for the job being asked of him. That person is Scott Walker. With the mess our state is in, he's the only man with what it takes for Wisconsin to reach it's fullest potential.

March 05, 2010 12:19:12

People keep saying "goverment needs to creat jobs" but it doesn't work that way. Companies, large and small will put people back to work, this is how you think and need to tell over and over. Stop expecting uncle sam to take care of everyone. We are behind you and hope you win.

March 05, 2010 12:16:00

As a resident of Milwaukee County, I feel blessed to have Scott Walker at the helm of county government. But, I'm willing to give that up, because I think he's the candidate who can dig us out of the mess in Madison. Good jobs are what we need, and a government that is friendly, not hostile to business development.

March 05, 2010 09:28:49

I read in the paper last night that the uber-train to Madison will cost $66 round trip. I can drive round trip for $20 and have my own transportation while I am there. I predict the trains will be empty!

March 05, 2010 09:12:31

I like your Ideas and ways Scott. We need you in Madison to take care of us Wisconsinites.
Just remember the ones who don't like you are the ones that have NO-IDEA what in the heck is going on.

March 05, 2010 08:54:36

Most of our state and national "representatives" have shown us repeatedly how little their campaign slogans and promises mean by wasting their time and our money on pet projects and useless blabber. It's time to elect someone with a proven record of frugality!

March 05, 2010 08:41:23

Ways to Cut Spending/Taxes

1- Identify every county entity.
.... identify every job in each entity
.... determine the 'MARKET RATE' for each job
.... persent this to the union
.... eliminate job if union refuses to
negotiate wages

2- increase Voucher schools

3- eliminate increased pay based on college master
credits.

4 eliminate unnecessary "inservices" on saturdays
for teachers at $40-50 per hour(i am quoting 2 teachers)

March 05, 2010 08:18:19

Go, Scott, GO!!!

March 05, 2010 06:50:58

Scott,
Small simple government souds fine.
I lost my job due to the policies and controls (or maybe the lack of)what ever size of Government the Bush administration had and Clinton and who ever else. Please let's see our congressmen of all parties work together and solve the lack of jobs for middle class Americans, or realy all Americans. Once we get folks back to work and install controls that won't allow greed to distroy this great nation of ours, then we can focus on campaigning. The foolish stalling and in-fighting that is going on in Washington right now is an embarrassment to all Americans and wii hurt the chances of both parties in the next election. The crash of the economey is the reason the Republicans lost the election. And, for allowing the banks, wallstreet and big business to be driven by blind greed, rightly so.

Scott please use what powers you have to bring about some unity.
The one that can do that is the one that ill get my vote.
Ed Cowell

I think Scott Walker is the kind of man we need in Madison (and washington). Scott is not like his predecessors who spent without regard to the future consequences. Thompson and Doyle were both Progressives; we need a true Conservative in the Governors Office.
Bill

Enjoyed seeing you and hearing your positive message at the Clark Country Lincoln Day dinner.

Thank you agin for all of your efforts on behalf of the citizens of Wisconsin.

February 28, 2010 20:51:34

Can't afford lunch? I haven't been employed since 2001 when Strattec moved our jobs to Witte, Germany and Juarez, Mexico. I am, however, about 120K in debt to the UW system for going back to school only to graduate jobless with no prospects.
Pretty good for a high honors student at 53!

February 27, 2010 10:27:37

Being a resident of Milwaukee County, I know how Scott has tried against overwhelming odds (The Milwaukee County Board)to control spending in our county and yet retain services that we expect of county government. He not only has to battle the Board, he also has to work with the employee unions who are set on getting more and more benefits for their members, not caring who has to pay for them.

February 27, 2010 09:51:50

Scott is the kind of person we need to lead our state! His message matches his actions which is something rare and wonderful in politics. Lets hope we can make some serious change by electing Scott as the next governor. Go Scott Walker!

February 26, 2010 16:58:45

Finally a message I can believe in. A candidate who realizes we must stop this unbelievable spending and ballooning government. If we do not start to be aggressively responsible with our money or lack there of, we are going to be remembered as the generation of irresponsibility and leave our children zero, or more truthfully negative zero!

February 26, 2010 16:13:41

Scott Walker is a man of his word. He is the only candidate who has ACTUALLY done what he said he was going to do!

The thing that really made me support Scott was when I heard that he's given over $370,000 of his county exec. salary back to the taxpayers over the last several years.

That kind of selfless act is exactly what we need in Madison.

We all need to work hard for Scott to make sure Tom Barrett and his lackies stay out of our lives.

Tom Barrett tries to make people think he will cut your taxes and bring jobs to WI but his rhetoric doesn't match his record. He's increased taxes every year in the city of Milwaukee and that's exactly what we'll get if he becomes governor.

GO SCOTT!

February 26, 2010 09:50:18

Just wanted to say how great it is to have a legitimate candidate run for office. With Scott we know we are going to get the honest truth and that he will do all he can to help Wisconsin overcome the problems that have surfaced over the past years.

February 25, 2010 13:20:54

I love the 3 simple messages for the Brown Bag Campaign!
Now just continue to
Keep it simple!
Keep the campaign clean!
And remain a man of your word!

That's the path to the governor's office this year!
